Restoring Balance
Everybody holds the key to their own healing, but sometimes the body needs a little help.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu takes place fully clothed (so no need to get your kit off) and literally means Finger (Shi) Pressure (Atsu) in Japanese. The use of physical pressure, soft tissye mainpulation (massage) and stretches reduce muscular tension and loosen stiff joints. The pressure can be light or dynamic but is always led by the clients needs.
Shiatsu finds it roots in ancient Chinese medicine, This system of health truly addresses the whole person: the physical, mental, psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of being.
For me Shiatsu allows the opportunity to get to the root cause of physical discomfort and tension. It offers a chance to be still, to connect with the body and to listen to what its needs in order to find balance.
It is well documented that Physical touch is known to release hormones in your body that create feelings of connection, thereby diminishing feelings of loneliness and depression. It's important we encourage ourselves to feel connected in a way that is right for us and feels safe.
